Ummm....I will blog later but for right now can I just say how disappointed in the Red Raiders I am...this is not the team I have watched and loved this season. Yes they just scored, but they're still down 21 points in the first half.....please pray!

WRECK 'EM

So I just finished watching Tech upset Texas and I am so excited I can't stop shaking!!!!! I can't wait for next week. I keep hearing the commentators saying Tech will get a big head, but the Pirate won't let that happen!!!! I am so pumped right now, there aren't words to describe it....I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep which is not good.

I have an interview tomorrow at PB, so hopefully pretty soon, I'll have something to do that earns money after school now. Sleeping from 1-4 is not productive and it messes up my sleep schedule tons!!

I had a great weekend in Paris last week. I got to see friends, family and eat lots of good food, yeah for La Familia!

This week though we found out that my Aunt Zoe has liver cancer and the prognosis isn't good. She's elderly and her husband died several years ago. This woman is amazing. When my mom's mother died, Aunt Zoe took my mom and her two brothers in for about a year and a half while my grandfather worked. Her husband was a WWII vet who was injured and lost his leg in Germany. She has two scrapbooks that are amazing. One is all the V-Mail sent back and forth. The other is probably 7-8 inches thick of all their letters. It also contains letters from his sister and mother, and former President, then Senator LBJ. It truly is museum quality and deserves to be in one. She is such a wonderful lady and I ask that you please pray for her and her family!

Ok, so that's it. I'm gonna try to go to sleep now, it might be pointless though!!!!!!

Update

So Soheyla says I need to update more, so here it goes. I don't update so much because there isn't much going on in my life. I'm going home this weekend so I'm excited. I haven't been home since I moved, so that's impressive. I'm gonna go watch some high school football, get my hair colored, go to the Pumpkin Festival, and get some new shoes at Collegiate. I CAN'T WAIT!!! I can't wait to see my dog, and see my family! So really that's all I got today...sorry it's not more best friend!

Settled in

So I'm all settled now! I love my little apartment! It's great. I'm sitting here tonight watching the Cowboys lose...Boo....anyway, whatever. I went to church this morning to Austin Stone Community Church. I went by myself, which is a little nervewracking because it's hard to go somewhere you don't know anyone. I really liked it and what made it better, was that I walked out and there was a friend of mine's husband, talking to a friend of my sister's. Is God great or what. I mean, He knew I was nervous to go somewhere unknown, and there were friends when I walked out. It was pretty cool!

The Cowboys are going to onside kick to try to get the ball back. It didn't work. So the Redskins get the ball on our 40ish yardline with a 1:41 left in the game. Let's go defense...Knock em out.

Back to reality. I have started working at a middle school here, teaching ESL for one period a day. It's great! I even get free benefits. YEAH!!! As a kid, you never really understand how important insurance is. I get it now. I'm really excited about this week. I can't wait for the VP debate on Thursday.

Cowboys lose

I think with the debate, Tina Fey is going to have to do SNL next week. She is hilarious and spot on in her impression. I really though Amy Poehler was great too. Her blinking Katie Couric cracked me up! Anyway, enough rambling! Talk to you again soon!

Hard Knocks.....

OK, so as an avid Cowboys fan, I have to say that I am enjoying Hard Knocks. I look forward to Wednesday nights so I can see what's up at the Ranch. I love Danny Amendoula (Wreck 'Em Tech!). I think that he should make the team. But more importantly than my boy Danny, I love watching T.O. make fun of the others. He cracks me up. Last night he was making fun of Deon Anderson and I laughed so hard I cried.

But anyway, enough about the Boys. I said last time that I was engrossed in the conventions. I actually TIVO'd it tonight, so I could watch it again and again. His speech tonight was truly inspirational and I am so excited about this upcoming election! He really makes me feel like there is change on the way. I especially liked how he thanked Bill and Hillary and they weren't there...sore losers much..

Welcome to my world!!!

Howdy! It's my re-entry to the blog world. It's been 4 years I think....anyway....

So I guess I'll use this to talk about me....who would have guessed!!! SO the big thing going on right now is that I'M MOVING!!!!

Those of you who know me well, know that I hate to move, it sucks, but this should be a good move. I am moving to Austin to pursue a career in government. I want to work on the education policy in this state. Having worked as a teacher one year, I know enough to know that the system is not great and I want to have a hand in fixing it. I am also considering law school again. I took the LSAT three or four years ago, it was not a pleasant experience as I had bronchitis and hadn't really studied as much as I should have. I bought the Kaplan review program tonight and am committing myself to studying for the test for real this time and maybe being able to start law school in the next couple of years, working during the day and school at night. My best friend Soheyla does that and she is a true inspiration!

So other than that, not much is going on with me. I am engrossed in this election and am currently watching the DNC on ABC! I'll watch the RNC next week.

Is anyone else as excited about the new 90210 as I am.....probably not. My TIVO is already set and ready to go!!! I can't wait!!! This year's tv schedule is gonna be crazy...thank goodness for DVR. Because I'm moving, and I have DirecTV, I get their mover's special, which means I get NFL Sunday Ticket, all my movie channels and HD channels for less than I'm paying now! Super pumped. I'm also getting a dual tuner DVR from DirecTV so yes, I can watch House and record One Tree Hill at the same time!!!!

I just finished reading Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series. It's really good, not just for teenagers! It has a great story and thank goodness I started the series after the last book came out because otherwise I would have been one unhappy camper. I literally read the first book in about 12 hours over 2 days, the second one in the same amount of time, the 3rd as well, and the fourth in about 6 hours over 2 days....I couldn't help it.
